I’ve been very fortunate in my career as a wedding photographer in Edmonton to be welcomed into all different types of families, cultures, and experiences. Edmonton Hindu wedding photos are some of the most colourful, and Hindu ceremonies are deeply rooted in tradition, and are absolutely beautiful. Preethi & Parthiv planned their wedding all the way from San Francisco, but were fortunate to have family helping them at home. They had a colourful and romantic wedding ceremony at reception at Edmonton’s Fantasyland Hotel surrounded by family and friends from all over the world. There were many happy and loving tears shed at their reception, and the couple performed an incredible choreographed dance!
Some couples opt to have their wedding ceremony and reception on the same day – for most ‘western/christian’ weddings, that’s normal, but for most Sikh/Hindu/Muslim/cultural weddings (particularly those that involve an outfit change) the ceremony and reception will take place on different days. While having them all in one day makes for a long day, it’s also a day that is filled with joy and emotion – and usually a fabulous party! Getting to spend the whole day with a couple on their family is an amazing experience, and I want to thank Preethi & Parthiv for including me in their wedding.
I enjoyed photographing at the Fantasyland Hotel, and we were also able to spend some time creating portraits in Edmonton’s beautiful river valley, and the Art Gallery. Summer in Edmonton may be short, but it’s a beautiful time for wedding season! Where is your ideal place to have wedding photos? I love exploring the ideas that my couples have, whether it be a location that’s meaningful to the both of them, or if they leave it up to me to find the most beautiful location to match their style for their wedding.
